Hi mga ka PK. Ka aapprove lang ng ESV ko last week so next step is obtaining exit clearance. Would anyone share their experience sa pagkuha ng OEC sa POEA? What are the requirements? Timeline and step by step process?
I'm eager to accomplish this clearance the soonest as I heard matagal daw magprocess nito.
Anybody here who applied for an OEC lately? May bago na ngayong policy that you would have to apply for an OEC from Pinas and may addendum to the contract that must be signed by the employer.
Problem is ayaw pirmahan ng employer ko yung addendum and they're telling me that I do not need an OEC kasi I was not directly hired from Pinas. I asked Phil embassy in Wellington and they said I will be required an OEC.

leanne Explain mo lang maigi na you need it to return to NZ... exit clearance siya sa PH immigration. This is PH law and as PH passport holder you are covered by it. It’s not for your employer to say that you don’t need it. If they recruited you, a Filipino, they should know the legalities around hiring a Pinoy. Doesn’t matter that you were recruited within NZ, the fact doesn’t change that you are a Philippine citizen.
charcharbinks got mine in Jan 2019 and wala pa niyan. It’s unfair na paiba-iba sila ng rules and the new rules they implement actually disadvantages the OFW.
I actually tried securing my OEC in person while I was in Manila... my appointment was 11 am. Already there by 10 am but got seen by 12:30 pm. In the end I didn’t get an OEC because of the docs I lacked (specific type of visa)... in the end POLO Australia allowed me. I was so thankful kasi between POEA in Manila and POLO in Australia I’m sure mas may knowledge ang POLO kung paano generally namumuhay ang Pinoy sa mga ganitong bansa... and they’re much more amenable to accepting alternative requirements. Finally I have a document saying I am an OFW as per PH law.
I’ve got a friend from Canada and mas nakakaloka yung requirements sa kanila =))
I know these agencies are geared to protect the OFW pero hindi dapat blanket rule para sa lahat because NZ/Aus/Canada isn’t the Middle East kung saan mas applicable yung requirements nila... sobrang OA talaga ng red tape sa Pinas...
Hi guys. I emailed POLO Australia regarding the addendum issue but I haven't heard from them yet. I think it's best to just purchase the life insurance. I'll post here kapag na verify na ng POLO Australia yung contract ko.
Anyway, here is the latest process accdg. to POLO Australia:
Please be informed that you need to process your OEC in the Philippines per POEA Memorandum Circular 02 series of 2019. We can only verify your OEC which you may present to POEA when applying for an OEC.
Kindly send through this email your employment contract, visa and passport. Kindly let the attached addendum signed by you and your employer as required by the POEA Regulations being the minimum standards in employing Filipino Workers which will form part of the terms and conditions of your employment contract OR health/life insurance policy that has repatriation cover in case of death or severe illness
Hi guys. I got my OEC yesterday from the POEA main office in Ortigas. I'm sharing below the recent procedure in obtaining an OEC.
As per POLO Australia, they do not issue OECs anymore and we have to secure it ourselves in the Philippines. POLO Australia will only verify your work contract which you have to submit to POEA on your appointment date. POLO Australia requires the docs below to be sent to them by email - [email protected]
1. Employment contract 2. Visa 3. Passport 4. Processing fee of 18 AUD (paid mine through Orbit Remit and sent the receipt) 5. Addendum to the contract signed by your employer - this essentially states that the company will be responsible for your repatriation in case of termination, illness, or death. In case your employer doesn't want to sign the addendum like in my case, you can purchase an OFW insurance from Paramount Life Insurance. It takes 3-5 days to process online.
If all the requirements are complete, you can get the verified contract immediately. POLO Australia will send you a scanned copy of your verified contract.
Log in to bmonline.ph, register, and set an appointment. On your appointment date, bring the following:
1. Balik Manggagawa Info Sheet (you will get this after setting an appointment) 2. Original and photocopy of passport 3. Original and photocopy of visa 4. Verified contract by POLO Australia (I've read somewhere that they need the original copy but in our case, POLO Australia only sends scanned copies and POEA accepted it. No questions asked.) 5. 100php - OEC fee
Upon arrival in POEA, get your number from the booth outside, submit your docs, and pay. After paying, you can print your OEC from your BM online account which is valid for 60 days from payment. It took me around around 2 hrs to get this done. Since I don't have any record with POEA before as I was previously on a Working Holiday Visa, they asked me to fill out a form wherein I explained my case.
In my brother's case who recently processed his first OEC, He just emailed his requirements (visa, passport, contract, all fees) to POLO Australia. He was not asked to supply insurance and/or addendum issue. Kaya mabilis lang din nag.appear yung OEC nya sa bmonline account nya.
leanne sa kuya ko, nagprocess siya last monday lang. Nagreflect yung OEC nya the following day. Nagtaka nga ako ba't ang bilis lang din sa kanya. Sinabihan ko pa naman na baka sa Pinas na siya makakuha ng OEC. Hehe
